Did anyone experience that feeling at the end of assemblies, or C/O visits?

i`m new on here so don`t know if this subject has been covered, but i was wondering if anyone else experienced that overwhelming feeling at the end of assemblies, or when the c/o visited and gave his talk, there was a different feeling in the air, and i always thought it was `jehovah`s spirit`.

now i`m out and have learnt a lot about the borg, and know all their dastardly deeds, i can`t understand what that feeling was.

it can`t have been his spirit, as i don`t believe now that the borg is the `truth`.

The feeling you "experienced" was not natural. ----The mind control mist from sincere well spoken dogma. I was always looking for fresh air and the "truth". Damn, I'm still looking!! LOL

excuse my ignorance, and i've read on boards about the us not selling/inviting contributions issue, but do individuals jws in effect pay for the publications they give out?

if so, is that only for their magazines or for hardback books as well?

how is this organised, please?.

Dozy,

I respect your reply and opinion. However, many of the problems associated with the WTB&TS can be and IS caused by the actions or inactions of the Elders. That is a fact! MANY problems could be taken care of and CHANGES could be made IF the Elders and other leadership were more realistic and honest for everybody concerned!

Do Individual JWs Pay For The Publications They Distribute? Most should pay but many do not pay. The accepted amount is at least 25 cents per issue of the WT or Awake. The hard bound books, small ones at least one dollar or more. Larger pubs are according to your desire to give but no less than five to ten dollars per bound volume or Bible.

The recent CDs of everything, brothers are encouraged to give as much as possible. Many go for a donation of $50 to $200 per CD as this price is based on the ability of the brother/sister to pay. Beleive me, the "ELDERS" keep a watchful eye on who pays and how much they pay or should I say donate. Now this is all done through the artful ability of conversation and sneakyness or just being damn nosey among the flock.

Ongoing Saga; Privacy Commission, WTS and my attempt to get personal files

i posted a while ago that i had asked the aust bethel for my personal records under the privacy act 1988. bethel refused.

i then lodged a complaint with the privacy commission.

bethel signed a stat dec that they are not covered by the privacy act, and so the case was closed.

Most religions do NOT have to produce records or files unless in a CRIMINAL case. However, there are other ways to get them! Tthe easiest: Work from the inside and have a "friend" pull the records for you! It works ONLY if you have the inside connections.

Typical "showy display of things" for the older people.... Male or female! PERHAPS this is their (Brothers) REWARD for being in the "truth." LOL!!!! Besides, a man will choose a young woman for a "TROPHY" reason. And the wealthy, powerful woman will choose a young man for the same gratification. .

i never recieved any answers from the mighty ones regarding why they were called the faithful and dscret slaves.

and if their mission was to give out food to the naive mindless flock , then why was i starving for answers?

soon i gave up when mom continually said to keep to my lessons in the wt and stop questioning jehopes orderly organization..
